Leadership training results in Play for Peace Youth Facilitators who lead Play for Peace Clubs. Who are they?

Training Youth around the World

  Youth Facilitators;
-are a group diverse youth who function in cohesive working teams
-develop their Play for Peace understanding and skills during intense learning experiences
-facilitate cooperative games and activities with children
-lead peace-building volunteer actions in the broader community
-build the confidence to use their skills and attributes to live more responsible, positive and self-fulfilling lives

The result? Youth participants in Play for Peace have higher high-school graduation rates than others in their community as well as higher self-confidence and coping skills in the face of difficult situations. Play for Peace Chicago youth from high-risk neighborhoods refer to themselves as "international peacemakers." Youth from rural areas of the US with less everyday access to diversity learn to be global citizens.  Young people from developing countries find hope, inspiration and pride in local resources previously overlooked.
