When you get involved with our Fall Run/Walk, you’re helping to support our 59 Play for Peace Clubs in 20 countries around the world…and you’re supporting our work in Chicago, too!
There are just a couple weeks left before the Fall season starts, and we’re getting ready for the World Peace Day Fall Run/Walk on Saturday, September 24, at the Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett, IL, USA. With our first-ever 5k Run and our 1k Nature Walk/Scavenger Hunt, we are getting ready for some family-friendly fun. In addition to the run and walk, we’ve got our International Food Festival, generously donated by Bartlett-area restaurants, and a silent auction that includes family fun packages, Second City tickets, and sports memorabilia from your favorite Chicago teams. Kids can enjoy a Bubble Run and a foam pit along the 1k route, and afterward, they can decorate pumpkins, get their faces painted, and enjoy the Clean Air Bus and community booths hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard and Bartlett Police and Fire departments. There will be music, food, and lots of Play for Peace games. When you get involved with our Fall Run/Walk, you’re helping to support our 59 Play for Peace Clubs in 20 countries around the world…and you’re helping kids in Chicago, too.

There are many ways you can participate in our local celebration of World Peace Day, which also serves as the largest fundraising event for Play for Peace: Form/join a team and run or walk: Get your friends and family together and form a team! Whether you choose to run or walk, you’ll have a great time, and school teams can earn special incentives for their schools. There are prizes for top runners, as well as top fundraising walkers and teams. Registration includes a free t-shirt and drawstring bag full of goodies, as well as access to our International Food Festival and activities.
Registration is easy…join us today! Volunteer: We are looking for local volunteers to help us make the event a success. Help with event set-up or clean-up, cheer on our runners, serve water at one of our water stations, or help run an activity.
