Love Value with the A New Day Club in Vietnam

"I'm impressed on this program so much …the children can not only have fun but also learn many meaningful lessons through games. It's very invaluable." - Young volunteer for the A New Day Play for Peace Club in Vietnam

Another day. Another great Play for Peace program from A New Day! It was smiles all around (again!) as the A New Day (AND) Club in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam continue to spread the word about playing for peace. On May 29th, they conducted their second educational program under the topic "Love Value" at the Truc Lam Bao Son Pagoda. With a big turnout of 70 children participating in the activities and 14 helpful and enthusiastic volunteers, there was great energy throughout the day as the volunteers led the activities for the children (whose ages ranged from 4 years to 15 years).

With this amount of children, the volunteers had to be on their toes! But they were well prepared, spending eight hours the previous day preparing the material to ensure that the program they delivered was of high quality. Even some local youths gave some support for running activities on the day. The program itself is one of 12 courses that teach important life and value skills to the children  through orientation games. Each age group had specific games and challenges to complete - dancing, singing, and role play.  The AND volunteers taught the children about the meaning of love in their lives, how love can affect others, and how using the concept of love and happiness can help them. And this message successfully got through to the kids.

As one child said, "I will collect old clothes, and plastic and save money to help people in difficulty." A youth who was part of the supporting group helping in leading some of the games also shared her thoughts, "I'm impressed on this program so much …the children can not only have fun but also learn many meaningful lessons through games. It's very invaluable."

At the end of another great and another successful Play For Peace program, the AND group was appreciative and thankful for all the support as Ruth Ngyuen remarked: "We appreciate all the sponsors who supported us, preparing stuff for activities, funds to buy material for the program as well as free transportation. And we thank the people in the pagoda for their support with food and the location. Thank you so much!"   Vietnam - AND 4Vietnam - AND 3Vietnam - AND 1
