A New Day Club hosts "My Dream"

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. ” – Harriet Tubman

Intending to teach children about the art of the dream and motivate them to continue to work toward reaching their dream, the New Day Club and certified trainer Rita Nguyen hosted the "My Dream" program. There were nearly 50 children in attendance - 17 under the age of 7, 21 between ages 7 and 11, and 8 between the ages of 12 and 14. The children were divided into three groups for activities like Tell a Story, a Puzzle game, Origami, and a dart game for the teenagers. Two children in the group were rewarded for improvement - they were engaged and paying attention to their leaders and participated in their activities. They shared their dreams of becoming a police officer, a doctor, or a teacher.

“I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their terms, allow them to take the subway... let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves"? C. JoyBell C.
