Telling Stories from around the World: Meet Our New Blog Writers

As part of our goal to provide support to our Play for Peace Clubs well, our Global Operations Manager Imroz Shah has recruited several new blog writers to help tell the powerful stories of kindness, compassionate action, and positive community change that we hear from Play for Peace Clubs around the world.

Our Play for Peace Clubs are the heart of our organization, and part of the way we know our Clubs have a positive impact on local communities is through the wonderful stories we gather from our trainers and mentors. As part of our goal to provide support to our Play for Peace Clubs well, our Global Operations Manager Imroz Shah has recruited several new blog writers to help tell the powerful stories of kindness, compassionate action, and positive community change that we hear from Play for Peace Clubs around the world. These blog writers join us from countries all around the world, and bring a great variety of experience with them, too.

In addition to reporting on stories from our trainers, mentors, and youth leaders, they will also help us increase our understanding of the issues faced by our Play for Peace Clubs. These writers join a team that already includes Deanna Pizzitelli, our long-time blogger who has been sharing stories from our Clubs in North America, and Anu Sood, who just completed a detailed series about Play for Peace training in Myanmar.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to our newest Play for Peace blog writer: Natasha Das, an architect living in the United Arab Emirates, who will bring us stories from our India Clubs. Tom Etuata, who hails from New Zealand, has a background in advertising and marketing communications. Tom will be sharing stories with us from the A New Day Play for Peace Club in Vietnam, as well as other locations. Judy Clarissa Gacutan, a communications volunteer from the Philippines, will bring us stories from our Clubs in her home country. Whitney Mwangi, a journalism student from Kenya, will share stories about our Play for Peace Clubs in Kenya, Senegal, and South Sudan. Cindy Ostroff, a marketing communications volunteer from the United States, will write stories from our Play for Peace Clubs in Israel and Palestine, and other clubs as well. Daniel Felipe Torres Ramirez from Columbia and Laura Vazquez from Mexico will write stories about all of the Play for Peace Clubs in Guatemala. Two of our other communications volunteers will serve as guest blog writers for us: Murielle Baker, a reporter from New Zealand, and Anet Wesonga, a journalism instructor in Kenya.

We look forward to reading posts from all of our new writers. We thank them for helping our Play for Peace Clubs share their stories with the broader Play for Peace community, and we look forward to adapting many of them to share with audiences outside the organization as well!
