Supporters Honored In January as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration of community!

Since the start of it’s 25th year last September, Play for Peace has been showcasing on our social media the remarkable stories of our foremost supporters, dedicated volunteers, and valued partners who have played pivotal roles in shaping our journey over the past 25 years.

Elisa Huang, Outstanding Play for Peace 25th Anniversary Supporter
Elisa, a dedicated and longstanding supporter of Play for Peace, recently joined the Board of Directors, solidifying her commitment to the organization. Her journey began nearly a decade ago when she sought an opportunity to contribute to a cause that values physical play as a catalyst for promoting peace and empowering youth, ultimately finding a perfect match in PFP. Over the years, Elisa has been actively involved in various initiatives, including organizing fundraisers in collaboration with her CrossFit gym and conducting play-based workshops in Delhi, India. Her profound connection with the children during these workshops fueled her advocacy for positive self-esteem and confidence through cooperative play-based programming. Elisa continues to play a pivotal role, consistently raising funds, supporting strategic partnerships, and contributing to workshop programming, driven by her unwavering belief in the vision and mission of Play for Peace in making a positive impact on the lives of children in conflict areas.

Joanne M. Finegan, Outstanding Play for Peace 25th Anniversary Supporter
Joanne, a cherished and longstanding Play for Peace volunteer, supporter, and fundraiser, recounts her journey with heartfelt enthusiasm. Introduced to Play for Peace in 1996 during a celebration at Towson State, she was captivated by Craig's vision and charisma, prompting her to become actively involved. Since 1996, Joanne has been a dedicated financial supporter and, in 2018, attended the International Play For Peace Dinner in Chicago, gaining insight into the organization's global impact. Inspired, she joined the Content Crew, adapting activities for teachers, and in 2023, assumed a leadership role in the Play For Peace Roundtable. Through ongoing Zoom meetings, Joanne continues to shape her evolving role in Play For Peace, emphasizing the profound impact of her renewed friendship with Craig Dobkin and the global significance of her Play For Peace experience.

As we celebrate 25 years of Play for Peace, let us reflect on the profound impact that individuals like Joanne M. Finegan AND Elisa Huang have had on creating a world where joy and collaboration triumph over discord. Here's to the next 25 years of fostering peace through the universal language of play!
