Team Spotlight! Danielle Dery, Content Crew

Now through June, Play for Peace is partnering with the experiential learning app Kikori to develop a one-stop shop for activity plans -- a project powered by an international group of volunteers dubbed the Content Crew. Meet one of the team members whose time and talents are bringing high-quality activities to facilitators around the world.

Where are you from? "Virginia, USA"

Profession / course of study: "I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors in Psychology, and I'm currently working as an HR Analyst."

What do you do on the Content Crew? "I've been helping out on the Content Crew by uploading activities into the Kikori app after they've been transcribed by other members of the crew, and by editing activities that others uploaded into Kikori."

What's your favorite Kikorified activity so far, and why?  "I really like Roots of Success, because at the end of the activity, group members get to keep a written summary of positive feedback they received during the activity. Revisiting those kind and affirming words on a day when you're feeling insecure would be a great self-esteem boost!"

If you had a blank check to do one thing to bring peace to your community, what would you do? "I would use the check to fund an educational "museum" downtown where people can stop by to learn about diverse and interesting ideas, phenomena, cultures, or other topics. We would rotate which topics are featured on a monthly basis and, on weekends, we'd have experts there to share information and answer questions on the current topic. Residents could enter into a free lottery to suggest topics to feature. Nothing there would be for sale, and there would be plenty of free, informational reading material!"
